Our Life Over-Seas

Panorama of Tanna Island

Our house in the village

What about the kids' school?

We homeschool our children using various curricula, especially A Beka, provided by Rancho Christian Community School in Temecula, Ca.

How long will you be overseas?

Our commitment is for, more or less, a lifetime. But we will be overseas for a block of four years, and then in the US for a year-- then, back overseas for another four years.  We hope to have the Bible translation completed some time around 2014 (Check back for an updated schedule).

What's your life like in the village?

It is quite remote. There are no shopping malls or restaurants or movie theatres on the island.  Just some stores with tuna and rice and cooking essentials like oil and flour.  We do have some amenities: We have solar and generated power. We collect rain water and pump it through our house for drinking and bathing (and for the toilet). We have also recently set up a radio-phone, so we can even get emails in the village!
